Opening ceremony.

Well the Olympics are pretty much done and dusted, the closing ceremony is about to kick off so I thought id do a few updates from throughout the games in 4 parts since I couldn't be bothered cracking out my computer and typing while the most epic sporting event in the world was unravelling around me
The opening ceremony was unreal. We'd been in the team for almost 10days before the opening ceremony officially opened the event. We were officially lead by our flag bearer
Nick Willis. He is one of Nzl s all time great track athletes. We were stoked to be lead out into the stadium by nick. He fired us up and we were welcomed big time as we walked out.
Te road to the stadium was lined with hundreds and hundreds of people as we approached the stadium and the noise got louder and louder. With 80,000 jammed into the stadium as we walked out it was incredible. Plus around 1,000,000,000 watching the show in tv. It's a surreal feeling before you walk out from under the grand stand and into the arena. We drew numbers for where we got to stand. I was stoked to get drawn out on the front right and be right up there as we walked out. I ended up with some bright blue Tevas to give the NZ team some color...

After the ceremony and being jammed in the middle with some of the worlds greatest athletes we left and went home as hundreds of fireworks went off around the stadium. Very impressive. We also caught up with bokpeti and kauzer who were carrying the flags of there countries. Pretty cool.
